The Great Doctor is a show that is based off a Korean comic book. In this show they bring together modern Korea and olden day Korea. During the Goryeo Era there is a myth that the "Great Doctor" can heal anyone from any disease or injury. Believing in this myth the King of Korea sends his most trusted warrior (Choi Young) to find this so called doctor to heal his wife and save her from dying. Choi Young searches all over Koreaa and eventually finds the path to the Great Doctor. The only problem with this path is that it is something he has never seen before. It is a cave with a mystical swirling light and he decide to run into it because it is his duty to save the King and Queen. After he jumps into the cave he arrives in modern Korea where he bumps into the doctor (Yoo Eun-Soo). He is convinced that she is the Great Doctor and drags her into the mystical swirling light and they arrive back into the Goryeo Era.
This show is interesting because it combines both fiction and non fiction into one. I enjoy watching fictional shows because it allows for your imagination to grow. A lot of times when I watch shows that are to realistic I get bored of them quickly because there is nothing to keep me entertained. But this show on the other hand keeps me engaged since it is similar to a comic book. The action scenes are similar to martial art movies except they allow for the warriors to have different super powers.
Oh, Nice review! I've never seen this drama even though I am from Korean. Lol.
ReplyDeleteI want to recommend you "Angry Mom".
